Boat ride, limestone cliffs and local villages (L)
8:30 AM We pick you up from your hotel in Nong Khiaw, after a short walk to the boat pier, the boat cruise takes us up the Nam Ou River passing more and more dramatic, limestone cliffs bordering the river, along the way we will visit rural villages of different ethnic groups in Laos, such as, a traditional Lao weaving village, where you can purchase some beautiful hand woven silk or cotton textiles. After that, we return by boat to Ban Muang Ngoi for lunch and we have time for a cup of coffee before we start a small trek through some gorgeous scenery consisting of rice paddy fields. Here we visit a historical cave which was used as a bomb shelter during the Indochina war. After returning to Muang Ngoi we cruise down the river with the beautiful sunset back to Nong Khiaw.
